The 9th International Workshop on Modeling the Ocean will take place in Seoul, Korea, 3-6 July 2017.The workshop series has grown in both size and reputation exponentially, since its beginnings as a small group meeting of the Princeton Ocean Model. The event is open to the ocean modelling community at large. The IWMO focuses on all aspects of ocean and coupled air-wave-sea, ice and current-sediment modeling: processes, analysis and prediction.
The earth system is inter-connected on a broad range of temporal and spatial scales, and we welcome coastal, regional and basin-scale studies, as well as interdisciplinary topics. As in the past workshops, we particularly encourage participation from young scientists – graduate students and postdocs – and will again host the Outstanding Young Scientist Awards competition. Selected works of IWMO presentations will be published as a special issue in Ocean Dynamics.
Upon submitting an abstract for the event, participants will be notified of their success on 1 April 2017.
