The InnoBlueGrowth Project has organised the Summer School “Blue Growth: emerging technologies, trends and opportunities” to encourage young people involvement in blue economy sectors by offering high-quality technical knowledge and fostering their entrepreneurial spirit.
Blue Economy represents an extraordinary opportunity for growth, cultural, social and economic development in the Mediterranean with a significant potential for job creation and investment in the area. Nevertheless, there is a serious lack of education and training for maritime field students and workers for efficient capacity building skills, a relevant matching of proficiency regarding the expectations of the job market, and an improved integration of Blue Economy science into practice and policy.
Organised in the framework of the Interreg MED Blue Growth Community, the Summer School will be addressed to young graduate students, researchers, professionals, public servants and practitioners in specialised fields related to the blue economy. The conference aims at encouraging young people involvement in blue economy sectors by offering high-quality technical knowledge and fostering their entrepreneurial spirit. Moreover, it aims at contributing to improve the attractiveness of maritime jobs as well as the employability of graduates.
