6th European Marine Board Forum

The 6th EMB Forum, on "Implementing the UN 2030 Agenda: What role for marine science?" will promote and foster a greater role of the marine science community in supporting the ongoing work at international level to advance the UN 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Forum for Recreational Fisheries and Aquatic Environment Conference

The European Parliament will host a conference titled 'Marine Protected Areas and recreational fisheries: Sustainable management and benefits' on 9 October 2017. The conference will cover a wide range of topics, some which include 'Marine Protected Areas in the EU', 'Capacity shortfalls and performance of Marine Protected Areas' and 'The social and community benefits of angling'. The event will be led by MEP Ricardo Serrão Santos. Lunch will be served at the event, which will run for a total of two hours from 12:30 - 14:30. Uhinak Congress

The Uhinak Marine Research Unit Congress will host a marine conference from 6 to 7 March 2018. The aim of Uhinak is to get to know the needs of agents facing climate change and to find out the scientific contributions to meet those needs. In order to achieve that objective, Uhinak sets out a multidisciplinary approach that brings together the different stakeholders: scientists, technicians, and administrations.

The conference is aimed at businesses, institutions and organisations in general, that act and see opportunities regarding the impact of climate change on the coast.

Marine Evolution 2018 Conference

The Marine Evolution 2018 Conference will take place from 15 to 17 May 2018 this year in Strömstad, Sweden.

The conference will take place over three days, in the beautiful Bohuslän region on the Swedish West Coast (listed as one of the “ten last great wildernesses in the world” by CNN), within the Kosterhavet Marine National Park, strategically located between major international airports in Oslo, Norway and Gothenburg, Sweden. It will host nine sessions, as well as excursion events, evening performances and time for discussions and relaxation. The venue is the Strömstad Spa.

Copernicus Marine Service: An EU asset for sustainable oceans

This session is part of the Copernicus Marine week (25th to 29th September): a week-long dedicated event, each day covering different themes, from science to operations, and from R&D to production.

The Copernicus programme is a cornerstone of the European Union’s efforts to monitor the Earth and its many ecosystems. The Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS) is committed to delivering state-of-the-art information about the state of the ocean daily, enabling the development of a wide range of blue applications.

COLUMBUS Annual Conference 2017 "Achieving Impact from Marine Research"

An international forum to bring together actors interested in sharing best practice and learning about initiatives and sectoral progress in Knowledge Transfer. This conference will offer an opportunity to collaboratively explore the barriers, challenges and possible solutions to achieving the impact potential of marine and maritime research, at all stages of the funding cycle. Training on the COLUMBUS Knowledge Transfer methodology will be available, targeted towards EU staff and funding agencies.

Moving2Gather 2017

The workshop  Moving2Gather will take place in France in Montpellier (grande salle de réunion du Centre Ecologie Fonctionnelle et Evolutive) from December 18th to 20th 2017. This meeting aims at gathering ecologist, modelers and numerical analysts around the tools dedicated to movement ecology. Registration is free but mandatory.

Aquaculture Europe 2017

Aquaculture Europe 2017 will take place in Dubrovnik, Croatia this year. Building on the success of the 2016 version which took place in Edinburgh, the event will host a large number of conferences and events, all covering vastly different areas of the marine sector.
