Launch of the Blue Growth Community in the Mediterranean

The event organized within the InnoBlueGrowth Horizontal project, funded under the INTERREG Med Programme, will take place in the beautiful context of Villa Celimontana in Rome, on 6 and 7  April.
The aim of the InnoBlueGrowth project, is to ensure the communication and capitalization of projects results, addressing Blue Growth issues as Blue energy,  Maritime surveillance, Yachting.

Belmont Forum - "funding research to address the challenges of global environmental change”

The Belmont Forum is a global partnership of 26 of the world’s major research funding agencies. It aims to deliver on global wide sustainable solutions for detrimental environmental change challenges. It is co-chaired by the European Commission (the Research and Innovation Directorate General) and by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).

Global Ocean Biodiversity Governance: the contribution of science

This briefing is a contribution to reflections about the role of Europe in global marine biodiversity governance negotiations. The coming years will be a key period in defining the governance of marine biological diversity in the world. At the United Nations, discussions about the adoption of an Implementation Agreement under UNCLOS on the use and protection of marine biological resources beyond national jurisdiction have begun. Countries around the world have also begun establishing ever more and sometimes larger marine protected areas. But will this help?

ERA-MBT Stakeholder meeting: Marine Biotechnology - enabling future innovations

The Marine Biotechnology ERA-NET will hold a stakeholder meeting in Brussels, coinciding with the launch of the recently completed European Marine Biotechnology Research and Innovation Roadmap. The meeting builds on the key elements of the Roadmap and will feature a wide range of speakers from international industry and the research community. 

The event will run from 9:00 to 17:00 on 13th October and from 9:00 to 13:00 on 14th October and comprises 6 sessions. The event is open for all stakeholders and can be attended for free.

Be Smart, Think Blue Conference & Brokerage Event 2016

The ‘Be Smart, Think Blue’ Conference and Brokerage Event 2016 is a two part event taking place in the beautiful Polish city of Gdansk on the 19th and 20th September 2016. The event offers the full range of stakeholders in the area of marine and maritime research the opportunity to interact with the Smart Blue Regions initiative (19th September 2016) and to establish contacts with potential partners to address open calls for Blue Growth research proposals in Horizon 2020 (20th September 2016). The event is free of charge.
