2nd Call for Nominations for Members of Knowledge Coordination Body

EKLIPSE is inviting applications to join the Knowledge Coordination Body (KCB) until October 2019. The KCB organises and accompanies the knowledge synthesis processes within EKLIPSE. The KCB also coordinates other tasks required to set up a self-sustaining mechanism for evidence-based and evidence-informed policy on biodiversity and ecosystem services.

The main tasks will involve contributing to selecting and scoping requests from policy and other societal actors, overseeing evidence processes and coordinating identification of research priorities.

IPBES Fellowship Programme: Call for New Fellows

The IPBES fellowship programme provides an opportunity for outstanding early-career individuals from all backgrounds and disciplines working on biodiversity and ecosystem services to fully participate in IPBES assessments. The fellows gain first-hand experience in participating in major multidisciplinary scientific assessments while working with, and being mentored by, leading experts.

IPBES is currently seeking fellows to participate in two assessments to be launched in 2018:

EKLIPSE Call for Requests

EKLIPSE is developing a European Mechanism to answer requests from policy makers and other societal actors on biodiversity-related issues. EKLIPSE invites proposals for requests from consortia representing policy, research, NGOs or individual applications from policy or other societal actors.

Call for input regarding the strategic framework of the future IPBES work programme

At its sixth session, the IPBES Plenary requested the Multidisciplinary Expert Panel and the Bureau, supported by the secretariat:

a) to develop a draft strategic framework up to 2030 and elements of the rolling work programme of the Platform;

b) to hold consultations to seek additional input from a broad range of relevant actors on the draft strategic framework and elements of the work programme of the Platform; and

Call for Applications to the SOLAS Scientific Steering Committee

SOLAS welcomes nominations to its International Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) for a term beginning on January 1st 2019. The SOLAS network is looking for two new members in the following areas: Core Theme 4: Interconnections between aerosols, clouds, and marine ecosystems, and Core Theme 5: Ocean biogeochemical control on atmospheric chemistry. Members are appointed for a 3-year term, renewable, once and meet in person at least once per year to address SOLAS issues.

Tropical Coastal Marine Research Fellowship Call

A Joint NAM S&T Centre – ZMT Bremen Fellowship scheme was initiated in 2008 for providing opportunities to scientists from developing countries to affiliate themselves with ZMT to upgrade their research skills and conduct joint research in Ecology, Biogeochemistry, Modelling and Tropical Coastal Marine Systems.

The Atlantic Project Awards, established in 2016, are designed to honour outstanding success stories, achieved by projects in the geographical area covered by the Atlantic Strategy that showcase relevance to the implementation of the Atlantic Action Plan. They promote individual winners but at the same time highlight the incorporation and scaling up of best practices at regional, national, European and international level.
