The E-BIND project is a DG Environment-supporting initiative which aims at ensuring the support of scientific bodies and networks in providing knowledge and data to ensure a better and more effective implementation of the Birds and Habitats Directives. This project includes a consultation process which involves reaching out to scientific organisations and networks holding information and data needed for a better implementation of the EU Nature Directives.
To this end, Milieu Consulting SPRL have developed a questionnaire to collect data on thematic issues where specific knowledge gaps have been identified and to identify all relevant experts on these fields, to facilitate their longer-term involvement in decision making processes. If your research area has any relevance to the Birds and Habitats Directives, you are encouraged to e-mail e-bindmilieu [dot] be (subject: Request%20for%20Questionnaire%20for%20E-BIND) (e-bindmilieu [dot] be) and request the Questionnaire.
The more responses received the more effective the outputs will be. Using all this input and the results of data collection and analysis, the E-BIND project will develop an online handbook addressing the practitioners in charge of implementing the best practices identified in order to improve the performance of the Nature Directives. A final workshop will provide an additional opportunity for stakeholders to validate the information gathered throughout the process.
