12 funded PhD programmes are currently open to applicants on the MANTEL (Management of Climatic Extreme Events in Lakes & Reservoirs for the Protection of Ecosystem Services). A Marie Skłodowska-Curie action European Joint Doctorate programme, the PhD's are based in a number of countries; Ireland, Sweden, Estonia, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany. The programmes begin between 1 March 2017 and 1 July 2017, each lasting for a period of 36 months.

There is also the opportunity of Double Doctorates (a PhD from two partner institutes) available to aaplicants interested in cross-disciplinary research, and working in top European research institutes in at least two different countries.
