The Aix-Marseille University is seeking a Professor of Physical Oceanography. The successful candidate will contribute to the scientific project of the Physical Oceanography team (OPLC) at MIO with the objective to enhance the potentialities in regional study sites of the Laboratory (Mediterranean, Pacific, Atlantic, Arctic). The related scientific project could thus cover any processes involved in the current challenges of physical oceanography regarding the variability of the ocean circulation and of the associated energy and mass fluxes, from the meso-scale to the global scale. The candidate is expected to have skills in developing original approaches, for example resting on multi-sensors (in situ and remote sensing) studies or model/observations synergies (data assimilation, inverse modeling, ...). Interactions with other disciplinary teams of the laboratory will be appreciated. Significant experience in conducting project is required. The candidate will also be required to take on responsibilities in the management of the OPLC team.

Candidates need to apply directly on the Galaxie web site between 25 February and 30 March 2016. See more in the job description linked below.
