An Arctic Technician Role, with a duration of 3 years and 8 months, is currently available at the Scottish Association of Marine Science (SAMS).

Main duties will include laboratory zooplankton experimentation, algal culture, lipid analyses as well as support on arctic cruises and local field work activities.

This role would suit someone who enjoys a challenge, practical work and can successfully manage a busy and varied workload.  It also provides an exciting opportunity to participate in a flagship UK Arctic programme, working with a strong team of national and international scientists in the DIAPOD project. Experience of working with plankton and analytical techniques is desirable although not essential as full training will be given. The role will be based in Oban, Scotland.
