The Scottish Association for Marine Science is currently seeking a candidate to fulfill the role of Business Support Executive. The main role of this position is to provide support to the process of identifying and assessing business opportunities for SAMS Research Services Ltd and working with the science and delivery teams, preparing business proposals and tenders for projects which will be pursued. 

By providing key marketing and tendering support, assisting in the establishment and growth of business in target market areas as aligned to marine science areas of competency. The post holder will provide key input to the preparation and submission, to strict deadlines, of high quality tenders/bids which meet client requirements, in response to SRSL’s business opportunities; help to secure profitable contracts / service orders in the most commercially advantageous terms for SRSL, in line with SRSL’s commercial objectives and targets, whilst contributing to the delivery of high service levels which achieve consistent client satisfaction.

The post holder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post.  The particular duties and responsibilities attached to posts may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibilities entailed.  The post holder will be required to work away from home from time to time, i.e. participate in fieldwork, customer liaison and attendance at conferences. The role may include survey work at sea, the applicant must be able to obtain the ENG1 medical certification and complete the STCW 95 Personal Survival Techniques training.
