A Marine Animal Physiological Ecologist role is currently available with the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS). The role, which is a full-time, temporary position, will be based in Oban, Scotland. The position has a fixed-term appointment of 3 years. The role has a To be considered for the role, it is preferred if the candidate holds a PhD, has a background in Biology/ Ecology, and, preferably, have expertise particularly in experimental studies, with an interest in climate change. 

The primary goals of the role are the following:

1) Field studies in the marine environments local to SAMS including boat work on  Seol Mara, the inshore SAMS vessel

2) Undertake experimental studies on marine zooplankton, gastropods polychaete worms and sticklebacks in aquaria and

3) Analysis of data and publication of findings in high impact journals. This post would suit a highly motivated person with good practical skills and fieldwork experience.
