Under the responsibility of the Head of the SG2M Department, and placed in the Laboratory of Genetics and Pathology of Marine Molluscs (LGPMM, implantation of La Tremblade), the candidate will be heavily involved in the research activities of the laboratory. They will develop and coordinate research in the field of marine microbiology (in particular work targeting the bacteria responsible for infections in bivalve molluscs). For the successful applicant, their role will be strongly related to:
- The identification and characterization of populations of mollusc pathogenic vibrios,
- The study of host-vibrio interactions, and in particular the impact of temperature on the infection of hollow oysters by Vibrio aestuarianus.
Depending on the availability of the applicant, they will have to contribute on an ongoing basis to the animal health surveillance tasks carried out by the National Reference Laboratory (NRL) and the Repamo-2 network, as well as those related to the mandates of the Community Reference Laboratory (CRL) for diseases of molluscs, particularly in terms of microbiology.
