The MSc. in Applied Biology in University of Malta can be completed on both a full-time and part-time basis. The course covers a wide range of topics within the field of Applied Biology, including techniques in molecular biology, biotechnology, maintenance of natural living resources, terrestrial and aquatic food production, applied biochemistry, ecosystems and biodiversity, ecotoxicology and pollution studies, applied bioinformatics, and ecosystem goods and services.
The programme of studies is designed to provide students with theoretical and practical skills in applied biology, and therefore prepares graduates for professional careers in the wide variety of sectors where biological knowledge and practices are used. The full-time course is run every year, while the part-time version only takes place every second year, due to the nature of the course.
