The University of Bergen (UiB) is seeking applicants for a PhD position in marine ecology and evolution within their Department of Biological Sciences. The 3-year role will be working within the Theoretical Ecology Group as part of the NRC-funded project TerraCoast.
As part of TerraCoast, the candidate will be helping explore how land use change and climate warming may have increased runoff of dissolved organic matter (DOM) to lakes and rivers and how this will influence light conditions and the ecology of coastal waters. To this end, the candidate will work on the development of mechanistic simulation models and coupling modelling results with observed events and processes in coastal ecosystems. An example of the project's direction can be found in this recently published article.
