The Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research is seeking a suitable candidate to fulfil the role of postdoctoral researcher, which will commence with a two-year term, with the possibility of a renewal. The role will mainly involve working in a diverse scientific team bridging terrestrial/limnic and marine science in paleoenvironmental research.
The post-doctoral researcher will work on the topics of sedimentary, redox-sensitive proxies in both marine and limnic environments by applying inorganic geochemical and sedimentological methods. The project will be jointly supervised by marine and terrestrial scientists. Candidates should hold a PhD in geosciences, or a related discipline. Previous expertise in trace-metal geochemistry including experience in ICP analytics and sedimentology, as well as strong English and team-work skills are essential. The candidates should be willing to participate in several week long ship cruises.
