The University of Plymouth School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences wishes to appoint up to three lecturers in one or more of the following areas:
- Ecosystem resilience
- Environmental quality
- Energy transitions and climate change
- Geohazards and risk
Applicants from the physical and social sciences are encouraged to apply.
Laboratories available for research here include ISO 9001 certified ICP-MS/OES labs, TIMS, GC and LC mass spectrometry laboratories, voltammetry, clean rooms and HF digestion facility, DOC instruments, organic synthesis labs and a radioisotope lab with gamma counting, liquid scintillation and XRF.
Teaching required would be in either of the disciplines of chemistry, environmental science, geology or geography with the possibility of postgraduate teaching (e.g. marine science, geochemistry); depending on candidate suitability.
In Plymouth you would also profit from membership of the Marine and Sustainable Earth Institutes and be in close proximity to a host of collaborative institutes including Plymouth Marine Laboratory and the Marine Biological Association.
